In an article published by the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy), physiotherapy helps reduce falls, address frailty and restore independence.

1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will fall every year, half of which will experience another fall in the following 12 months. Injury due to falls is the leading cause of mortality in people aged 75 or over in the UK.

Physiotherapy uses specialist skills in assessment and are able to provide evidence based exercises, education and advice aiming to prevent falls, improve balance, increase self confidence, reduce fear of falling and promote active and healthy lifestyles. Physiotherapy can help reduce falls by 32% and the risk of falling by 22%.
