Hand therapy

Available: Duncan Pearson – Thursdays (9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

Hand physiotherapists treat patients who have conditions affecting the hands and upper limbs. Pain within the hands can occur in any of the joints due to overuse, an acute injury or a degenerative condition.

Treatments help to alleviate pain through splinting, exercise and manual therapy or self-management techniques. Some hand pain conditions such as sprains are short term and require acute treatment until the symptoms are resolved, whereas long-term degenerative conditions like arthritis require lifelong self-management techniques.

Some of the conditions that we treat at Keith James Physiotherapy Clinics include:

  • Post operative care
  • Nerve entrapment injuries
  • Dupuytren’s fasciectomy
  • Fractures
  • Tendon ruptures / strains
  • Wrist sprain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
