Matt graduated from Salford University in 2002 with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation. Immediately afterwards, he began working at Oldham Athletics’ football academy before moving back to Leicester in 2003 where he worked in sports injury clinics in both Leicester and Nottingham.
In 2005, he qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist and continued to work in private practice in Nottingham and for the Nottinghamshire prison service. Matt has a particular interest in sports injuries and developed his skills by working for Nottingham Forest’s football academy and with Nottinghamshire Cricket club.
Matt is a keen hockey player, previously captaining Leicester Hockey club, and representing Leicestershire before joining Firebrands hockey club in Bristol. Using his own experience in sport, Matt is able to transfer his knowledge into the clinical setting, enabling injured sportsmen and women to get back to their full potential.
Since moving to Bristol in 2009, Matt has also developed an interest in the treatment of chronic pain. He runs the Chronic Pain Service, an innovative approach to the treatment of long term pain. In 2015, Matt completed his MSc in Pain Science and Management at Keele University.
