Sue trained at Liverpool College of Occupational Therapists and gained a diploma in Occupational Therapy (OT) in 1983. From there, Sue spent 4 years working in a busy district hospital in Swansea gaining experience in a wide range of specialities including psychiatry, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, rheumatology, medicine, and stokes.

Sue moved to Bristol in 1987 to work in the hand unit at the BRI, which deals mainly with orthopaedic hand injuries. Sue works in close contact with two orthopaedic surgeons and other senior OT’s and physiotherapists specialising in hand therapy. Sue has also been working in private practice since 1997.

Sue has experience of treating a varied range of hand conditions including fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, providing post-operative care for joint replacements and fusions including custom-made splints and wound care, as well as all other aspects of hand therapy.
